Studio Works by Morano: Exhibiting Now in Prahran
The Melbourne-based artist’s works will be on show for a limited time only!

Prahran’s Let’s Pretend Gallery debuted a collection of incredible works by Morano on June 10, and with the limited exhibition closing July 1, it’s time for art-loving Melburnians to take a trip to this inner suburb to support an iconic artist.

Born in Barcelona in 1978, Morano took to art in his youth as a form of self-expression, with typographical graffiti making way for the focus on faces that largely typifies his current body of work. Guided by emotion, Morano crafts murals without a plan, resulting in striking distortions in colourful renditions.

This body of work comes from memories of my childhood, living in the suburbs of Barcelona. These pieces represent the vision of a child beginning to comprehend a lack of opportunity. Drawing and painting has been a daily practice since I was a kid, serving as a kind of meditation to digest the world we live in.
MORANO, ARTIST.

Morano is perhaps best known for his murals, which have been featured in The Big Picture Festival in Frankston as well as occupying a laneway on Commercial Road. Morano’s paintings are similarly large-scale, with an intense depth and dynamism that invites the viewer to look closer. With extraordinary colour and a mastery of form, the paintings are a captivating insight into Morano’s memories and worldview.

Visit the Let’s Pretend Gallery in Prahran before July 1 to see Morano’s Studio Works in person!
